Such close friends that they are sisters. Only one shadow hangs over their friendship:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile one grew up confident,<br \/>\npampered by life and smiling,<br \/>\nthe other felt unhappy\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We strip Phaedra and Medea of their peplos and bring them into the present day, turning them into seemingly grey, ordinary beings. Only when conflict arises do they suddenly assume an ancient sense of fate, under whose influence they will sweep away everything in their path. In the background, C\u00e1diz \u2014 a city with a Macondo-like profile \u2014 where everyday elements take on a magical dimension that foretells tragedy: the unsettling easterly wind, announced by the grinder\u2019s flute and the presence of the circus on the outskirts of the city, the birdsong, the chorus of neighbours\u2026<\/p>\n<p>The Wind Is Wild is a tragedy pierced from beginning to end by laughter.
