The birth of his son and heir, <strong><em>Simba<\/em><\/strong>, sparks resentment in <em><strong>Mufasa\u2019s<\/strong><\/em> brother, Scar, who longs to become the new Lion King. As time goes by, the cub is taught by his father about the responsibilities he will one day assume as ruler. Meanwhile, <strong><em>Scar<\/em><\/strong>, together with the hyenas, devises a sinister plan to eliminate his family and seize the throne. After causing <em><strong>Mufasa\u2019s<\/strong><\/em> death, he tricks <strong><em>Simba<\/em><\/strong> into leaving the kingdom. During his escape, <em><strong>Simba<\/strong><\/em> is rescued by <strong><em>Timon<\/em><\/strong> and <strong><em>Pumbaa<\/em><\/strong>, who protect him until he becomes an adult lion.
