COMPAÑÍA NACHO DUATO

Dance Cycle Auditorium - Air Europa 2026

The young Nacho Duato Company was born with the noble mission of enriching Spain’s dance scene and expanding job opportunities for young dancers.

One of the company’s core pillars is the revival of Nacho Duato’s repertoire. His ballets are true gems that deserve to be preserved and shared with new generations of audiences and artists.

Our vision includes national tours that bring the magic of dance to different corners of the country, reaching a broader and more diverse audience.

Programme:

GNAWA

In Gnawa, the choreographer continues the line initiated in his work Mediterrania, where he explored his roots, those of his ancestors, and his connection with the Mediterranean Sea.

With this piece, Nacho Duato seeks to convey, through movement, the sensuality of the landscape and the sensitivity of its people. With evocative music filled with Spanish and North African sounds, Gnawa captivates with its powerful energy and sensual elegance, combining spirituality with the organic rhythm of the Mediterranean.

LIBERTÉ

Liberté is a pas de deux from the choreography Rassemblement. In this ballet, Duato draws inspiration from songs that composer and singer Toto Bissainthe dedicated to her homeland, Haiti. These are songs of slaves drawn to Voodoo rituals. This creation gradually becomes a powerful and moving call to the audience’s awareness of human rights through the liberating power of music and dance.

L’ AMOROSO

L’Amoroso is the first work Nacho Duato created specifically for Compañía Nacional de Danza 2. The choreography uses a selection of pieces for viola da gamba from the Italian Baroque. With soft and refined music, Duato draws inspiration from it, as well as from the freshness and youth of the dancers, to build and shape an atmosphere filled with dynamism, vitality and innocence.
