EDUARDO GUERRERO – “EL MANTO Y SU OJO”

Dance Cycle Auditorium - Air Europa 2027

The Cloak and Its Eye was born from the urgent desire to dance and sing the paradigms that shape our time: social, ethical, aesthetic, political and existential. Drawing on the thought of María Zambrano, especially her defence of dreams, inner life and poetic reason, this work stands as a sensitive response to a hyper-visible world governed by technological artifice.

In an era where life has become a spectacle for consumption, where desire has been hijacked by algorithms and attention by screens, dreams — as a sacred, mysterious and organic space — emerge in this piece as a place of resistance and regeneration. On stage, Eduardo Guerrero surrenders himself to rest, and from that surrender arises a symbolic, dreamlike and deeply human dramaturgy in which the body dances what words cannot express.

The Cobijadas of Vejer, with their cloaks and hidden eyes, become emblems of protected inner life: women who seek refuge in the shadows not to disappear, but to preserve what is most vital. In this sense, the performance proposes a choreography of the invisible, where light is no longer surveillance but a loving gaze that ventures into the heart and mind — dark, fragile and essential territories.

The Cloak and Its Eye is a flamenco allegory about the urgency of feeling again, of getting lost, of being amazed. An invitation to inhabit the night and dream of the impossible as the only way to keep the flame of humanity alive.
